Cari Starritt-Burnett has been a family law attorney in the Killeen area since her admission to the Texas State Bar in 1997.  Through the years, she has developed strategies and practices that she utilizes to help clients understand how the law applies to their situation, and to effectuate the custody arrangement and/or property division you deserve.  Cari recognizes family law issues can be overwhelming and emotional.  Even if things remain amicable, having an experienced professional such as Cari ensures the process is done timely and correctly.  Whether the case involves divorce, child custody, visitation, enforcements and/or asset division, to include military retirement, Cari understands that each issue is important to the client.  Cari is a compassionate and fierce advocate for her client.

Cari received her B.A. from Angelo State University and graduated magna cum laude in 1994.  While at Angelo State University, Cari was the Government Student of the Year and was honored by having tea with former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.  She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1997 and was the recipient of the Jurisprudence Award for Superior Academic Achievement for Income Taxation and Privacy Law.

Cari is an active member of the Bell County Bar Association, having served as the president from 2018-19 and is a member of the State Bar of Texas.  She has prior affiliations as a member of the Campus Improvement Team for Belton Independent School District and a prior Board Member for the Armed Services YMCA.  She is a current board member of Foster Love Bell County.  Cari is the 2019 recipient of the Bell County Jim Bowmer Lawyer of the Year award.  Cari has spoken on family law issues at the Military Legal Community seminar, the Bell County Bar Paralegal Association, and multiple times at the Bell County Bar Association Bench Bar Conferences.
